Things I’ve been learning about..
‘Good brands create memorable moments, great brands create movements’
This hit hard for me.
Imagine leading one of the world’s most influential brands for 30 years, then sharing all those learnings in one place. I recently devoured ‘Emotion by Design’ by Greg Hoffman a seriously dope read that covers his journey from intern to CMO at Nike HQ, and everything in between.
I found it fascinating following his evolution with the brand, cultivating the ecosystem between sport, culture, and human emotion. It verified my belief that everything starts with emotion, the future is human; it just happens to get assisted by technology powered by our personal data. (something I’m learning more about)
When an idea or example that was shared in the book, I spent the next hour researching everything about it. Below is one from my favourite finds.
The lone nut – How to start a movement | Derek Sivers
A key take away from the book was to share what I learn and create. The world needs to see it. No matter the outcome. Don’t feel small for sharing thoughts, ideas, or the work itself. Everything is connected, hence, why I’ll continue sharing this Substack.
4.5/5 – recommended read for those emotive driven people looking for the next idea.

Things I’ve been curious about…
What does change look like?
It seems to just happen in a moment, however, it’s perpetual. Change is the only constant.
As I still here, pushing my meal to the side, frantically writing this into my phone before my inspiration stops.
I pause to think what does change look like? Can I draw the process? Some change takes longer than others, it seems to move in the shadows until ‘BAM’ you are in a new life situation.
To me, positive change builds over time, where negative change can happen in an instant.
The term ‘overnight success’ is ten years in the making. **According to overnight success stories.
As you are reading this, I ask the question what does change look like for you? Is it linear? Or does an idea get planted and you move towards it sub-consciously? Are we on autopilot until the change happens.
Anyway, enough deep pondering. As I write this in a cheap and cheerful Japanese joint in Carlton. Change is the only constant. My once $8 meal is now $10.
Moral is, we all keep changing. Most of it goes unnoticed. Until we look back.
A seed for thought.
I see feedback as a gift, so if you have any insights, learnings, or comments, I welcome them in the space below or hit me up directly.
As always, move with curiosity,

Beautiful provocative read man 💡
I often think of myself as a person who makes quick decisions on intuition. As I was reading about the seed getting planted and working towards it subconsciously, it might be closer to the ‘truth’. Looking back, most change in my life came from situation like that... I think. Anyway change is inevitable, on a daily base things, people, situations,... change. Sometimes it’s beautiful, sometimes it hurt like hell. It’s important to keep remembering everything in life comes in waves, and keep on changing
